Braz is a vinyl and Serato DJ based in London and Bristol. Never a fan of the single-genre mix and unafraid to change tempo, she prefers to take listeners on an exhilarating ride through hip hop, funk and jazzy beats to techno and drum and bass.

In 2006 her varied tastes and eclectic selections caught the ears of Solid Steel, the radio show set up by Coldcut in 1988 and still showcasing The Broadest Beats to this day. Now hosted by their label Ninja Tune, the show has welcomed guests such as DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist and Steinski alongside any relative newcomers whose mixes make the grade. Braz's first Solid Steel mix aired in June 2006, and was followed by a second in January 2008.

 

Airplay led to interest from promoters, and Braz has enjoyed several regular slots in London. Word soon spread beyond the capital, and in 2007 she was invited to play with the legendary Detectives of Perspective, hosts of the Solid Steel club night in Bristol. With continuing interest from promoters both in the UK and abroad, 2008 looks set to be another big year for Braz...
